NILPET®, the end of plastic waste

Currently, 65 % of clothing is made of fossil fuels and in the end, ends up landfilled or it is incinerated. That is why the textile industry is responsible for 10 % of CO2 emissions. Since 2018, we have been researching how to make the fashion circular, generate less emissions, use less water and resources, and leave a positive impact on the planet. Together with our recycling partners, we have developed NILPET®.

Together, we are adding a positive impact

Circular polyester NILPET® is made of recycled polyester waste and a small percentage of plastic bottles. At the same time, we adjusted all our fabrics and products for the recycling process, so they are not only 100% recycled but also 100% recyclable within‘ our NIL Circular System. Circularity of NILPET® material saves 38 % of CO2 emissions and 50 % of water compared to conventional polyester.

Properties, that make our clothes unique

Advanced technology applied to products made from NILPET® materials ensures better breathability and functionality of the textile. Additionally, the fabric can be customised to be stain resistant. This anti-stain technology repels water-based liquids (coffee, juices, soft drinks) and oil-based liquids (sauces, ketchup). In addition, the clothing neutralises bacteria that cause body odour and is almost wrinkle-free.

Where does NILPET® come from?

We obtain recycled material from our suppliers in Spain, who hold the GRS certificate (Global Recycled Standard). This certification verifies and monitors the amount of recycled material in the final product. Then we produce NILPET® fabrics from the yarns and sew the final products in the Czech Republic. Once we have enough products or waste material to recycle, we send it back to Spain, where our partners recycle it mechanically. Or to the Netherlands, where molecular recycling takes place.

Our white label products

Thanks to its properties, NILPET® is a great material for sportswear. We adapted the fabrics to be stain resistant, sweat invisible and neutralise body odour. In addition to the fact that we achieve savings in the production of the material, the material is also very easy to maintain. It is stain resistant so you don’t need to wash it too often, it doesn’t wrinkle and it dries very quickly so you don’t even need to put it in the dryer.
